Answer: The plate problem persists even after not placing the carafe on the plate while it's warm and wiping it down with paper towel. This shouldn't be happening. -

Answer: Yes, you can use a paper filter inside the gold mesh but the gold mesh works perfectly. To avoid making a mess, brew only a small amount of coffee. -

If you buy your own paper filters at the store, is there a certain size to get? I never had the cone-shaped filters before. The manual doesn't say.
Answer: The small size will work fine up to eight cops. If you are doing more, it probably is best to use the larger size. -
