Conjuring, The: Last Rites (DVD)

** The Conjuring: Last Rites (DVD)** The Conjuring: Last Rites presents a mixed bag of experiences for fans of the franchise. On one hand, there are those who celebrate it as a heartfelt conclusion to the Warrens' saga, particularly highlighting the growth of Judy, the daughter of the famed ghost hunters, and the emotional connections that resonate with devoted viewers. This faction appreciates the movie’s focus on character evolution and ties to the overarching narrative of the series. For them, it stands as a review-worthy addition, especially around Halloween. Conversely, a significant portion of the audience expresses disappointment, citing issues with pacing, predictability, and the film's failure to evoke sufficient dread or excitement. Critics argue that instead of delivering engaging scares, the movie resorts to lackluster jump scares that do little to heighten tension. This group reflects a bitterness towards what they see as a formulaic conclusion that lacks the spark and innovation that drew them to the franchise in the first place. Echoes of nostalgia for earlier entries in the series permeate their reviews, marking this installment as a missed opportunity for a more thrilling finale. Ultimately, The Conjuring: Last Rites divides its audience. While some appreciate it as a fitting tribute to the characters and a moment of growth for Judy, others deem it the weakest of the series—a stagnant entry that drags under the weight of its dull plot and lackluster execution. **
