- The HexClad 8 Inch tempered glass lid construction allows you to see what you?re cooking without removing the lid. Tempered glass construction also helps protect against cracks and breaks. Each cover has steam vents and a stay-cool handle. The hexagon design is created through a laser etching process to provide both stainless steel and a nonstick surface. This dual surface allows your nonstick pan to still sear while using less oil, grease, and butter. Durable cooking pans built to last require tri-ply construction. The first and third layer is stainless steel for sturdy nonstick features, while aluminum in between conducts consistent, even heat distribution. HexClad Cookware lids are made from high-quality tempered glass, which is highly resistant to cracks and breakage, and safe up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit
