However, the Buffalo software installed can have issues, and there have been reported problems with updating firmware and fake failures of all drives in the array after a Windows update. Despite this, customers generally feel that their data is safe. The machine's fanless PSU produces a significant whine when powered off but plugged in. The Buffalo installed software also seems to have high fan speed issues when USB HDD is plugged in. Overall, this is a solid piece of hardware, and with some basic Windows knowledge, users can quickly and easily manage their storage needs.
