Question:
How do I install the LCENT4 drive centers onto my lathe?
Answer: To install the LCENT4 drive centers, start by inserting the appropriate center into the lathe's tailstock or headstock depending on your setup. Simply align the Morse Taper mount with the corresponding socket on your lathe and apply gentle pressure until it fits snugly. PSI Woodworking Accessories Editorial Review
The PSI Woodworking LCENT4 Wood Lathe Drive Center 4pc Set is a useful tool for making a mortise or tenon on the bottom of a rough piece of wood. The set includes two inserts that mount on the headstock, four "knives" that dig into the wood and force it to turn, an item with a ball bearing that mounts on the tailstock providing additional support for heavier or off-balance pieces, and a fourth item whose use is uncertain. The diameter of the shaft that inserts into the holder is a number 2 Morse taper. The product seems to work well for most customers with positive reviews stating that this set is excellent for making wood turn handles, good chucks for a wood lathe and that they use them all the time. However, there are a couple of issues customers have had with the product. One customer had problems with the live center sticking in the tailstock and another was not happy that one of the four lathe drive spurs was too small and would not seat properly in the taper hole.
