Answer: Touch dry in 1 hour; hard dry in 7-10 days. -

Does this form a smooth surface for paint over?
Answer: Very smooth -

Is this stabiliser solution suitable to use on wooden window frames prior to repainting?
Answer: Whilst it might stop a chemical reaction between old and new paint, it won't hide the flaking old paint and won't stop it all falling off. I suggest you do a proper job and strip and sand it all back, tough I know, but if you want to save the frames then that's the best option. That's assuming they can be saved in the 1st place. -
Question:
Can i use this for a under layer on a concrete garden wall?
Answer: Yes the Peel Stop can be used for this application. We assume you have old paint layers on the wall that you want to consolidate. Provided the old paint layers are sound and clean the Peel Stop can be used to prime the surface before repainting with a suitable top coat. -
Question:
Do you put this on first and then paint over it?
Answer: Yes the point here is it to stop any reaction with existing paint and the new paint. So paint say 2 coats to be sure, let dry then following day paint as required. -
Question:
Will this stop my Paint from bubbles?
Answer: I had bubbly emulsion after painting over walls treated with PVA. This product solved the problem. -
Question:
Can I use this to paint over a bitumen based paint to prevent bleed through?
Answer: I doubt it -
Question:
Can I use it to paint my shower enclosure? It's made of fibreglass (sort of plastic)
Answer: Sorry I can’t answer that I wouldn’t have thought you can use on fibre glass -
Question:
Could i use this on top of my newly painted vinyl floor?
Answer: It's ok for initially painting on a surface and then applying your topcoat, not usually the other way around. I would look for a varnish or something similar, not this product. It's good but it's not designed for a high usage surface. -
Question:
Will this seal the top layer of a sika render that is starting to disintegrate?
Answer: Quite possibly - it sealed the paint off a flaking wall and meant I didn't need to strip it back. -
Question:
Can this prevent knot stain?
Answer: Hi. Zinsser do not mention that its good for blocking knot stains. I would recommend the Zinsser Cover stain or the Bulls EYE 123. Please check that the product is appropriate for your project. Kindest Regards Wood Finishes Direct
